Who We Are
Samona Weiss is a multi-generational company, founded by Najib Samona, Eugene Weiss and Harvey Weiss. The accomplished team began joint venturing on projects after a chance encounter in the early 1990s. Together, they established a reputation in the industry based on their integrity, professionalism and ability to successfully deliver Class A product. Throughout the years, the company has been involved in many complex real estate transactions, including public/private partnerships, large and small scale environmental redevelopment projects, syndications, mixed use developments, and urban infill development. As seasoned veterans in the industry and having built an extensive list of professional contacts to draw from, the results-driven team is able to provide the superior services of a large corporation while delivering the personal responsiveness and flexibility of a smaller firm. The company prides itself on its ability to develop its projects in a way that exceeds the expectations of the local community, its investors, tenants, and lenders. Najib Samona
Najib is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Samona Weiss Properties. He is a chartered accountant from England and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the United States. He is an author of multiple articles and books on financial decision and management accounting and was a former professor in the field. Najib has extensive experience in development, dating back to the early 1980s. Najib has also served in a leadership capacity for various community organizations, and he is an active part of the Chaldean community in metro Detroit.
Harvey Weiss
Harvey is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm’s day-to-day operations. Utilizing his extensive experience, Harvey provides leadership in Samona Weiss’ strategic planning. He supervises the firm’s acquisition, development, financing, and management divisions. In addition to properties developed and owned by Samona Weiss, Harvey has successfully implemented and completed complex joint venture projects between the public and private sectors.
Steven Samona
Steven serves as general counsel to the Company, handling and overseeing legal affairs. He graduated with a degree in finance from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctorate in law from Wayne State University. Steven has extensive experience and knowledge in real estate law having served on committees, authored articles, and been recognized and awarded for his practice in the field. He has helped guide the company through a multitude of successful and complex developments from start to finish. As a principal in the company, his responsibilities go beyond legal, allowing him to apply his financial, legal, and development experience to any situation.
